Centre Of Digital Media
I was very interested in what many of the students were doing and I really enjoyed touring the campus to see that they even have a games room!! It was interesting to all see all the techniques on which they put so much emphasis on in order to build a team to work on projects. I never figured all those things factored in to creating a team of efficient workers.
Plus:-
- Gave me a better scope of what careers come out of technology
- Made me think much more seriously about the possibility of pursuing a career in technology
- Showed me how hard students work to produce a product
- Showed a broad spectrum of things which are done in technology all under one facility
Minus:-
- WE DONT HAVE A GAMES ROOM!!!! MS.KISH??????
Summary:
This trip was a great eye opener to me about all the canals and avenues that we are able to branch out into with what we do from our technology class. It shows that you can have a great career which can really be fun in this modern and changing world.
Hastings Elementary School
All in all I felt this trip was very meaningful for the students as much as it was for us to teach someone the technology we had been learning.
Plus:-
- I learned how to present what I have learned to someone else
- I was able to work with someone and create their ideas and make them animated
- Although the children were in grade 1 I feel they were able to learn something new about technology too
- Nurtured creativity on both parts. With the students they had to make up their own storyboard for the rest of the story. With our class we had to think of an efficient and sensible way to present their ideas using the technology we were given
- Helped us prepare for what we can do better or alter next time we plan to do a trip of the same sort
Minus:-
- It was hard at time to get the children to focus considerably because they were very young
- Kids were some what interested and probably forgot about what we made
Summary:
This trip was not only a good experience for both Hastings Elementary and our class but it was a learning curve for us on what we can improve on for next time to increase our impact with other classes.
